Last nights in Etosha

The Okaukuejo camp was wonderful. We stayed two nights. There was a magnificent watering hole that we walked to each evening, and there was also a pool where we cooled off in the afternoon (with a beer and a lounger in the shade).

Each evening as dusk approached, we headed to the watering hole and watched the animals arrive — elephants, giraffes, black rhinos. There were a couple of lights that illuminated the area around the water just enough to make out the shapes of the animals when it was dark. We saw some late night disputes with dramatic stare downs between rhinos, and one fascinating confrontation between two rhinos and an elephant.

First night, 11 rhinos and 11 giraffes!
