Onguma- Tamboti Campsite to Etosha

We left our Tamboti campsite in the Onguma Game Reserve this morning and headed into Etosha. Tamboti was a great place to spend two nights. And it was convenient (500 meters outside Etosha’s east gate.)

Our Tamboti campsite — we heard a hyena close by the first night

We had our own private ablutions (loved that!), along with a common area pool, bar, restaurant, and small shop.

Our second day at Tamboti we had rain, so we skipped the sundowner drive we planned. Instead we listened to an audiobook for a while and then walked up to the restaurant/bar for a drink and a cool breeze overlooking the watering hole.

We’re in Etosha now and it is sweltering! Hoping for a good cool off. Looks like an afternoon thunderstorm is on its way.

We’re heading to the watering hole here at the Halali camp this evening. It’s an easy stroll from our campsite when the sun’s not bearing down on you. Once the storm passes it should be nice.

We checked it out earlier:
